Policy research on promoting the application of Artificial intelligence in smart transportation in Ho Chi Minh city in accordance with resolution No. 57-NQ/TW

In the context of national digital transformation and the development of smart cities under the TOD model, the application of AI in intelligent transportation has become inevitable. This paper analyzes policy strategies to promote smart transportation, with a focus on Ho Chi Minh City. Based on Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on STI-DX, the study highlights the role of addressing institutional bottlenecks as a breakthrough factor to facilitate the implementation of AI-driven solutions in urban traffic management and operations. By examining real-world applications and comparing them with international models, the paper proposes recommendations to enhance digital capabilities and foster public-private partnerships, accelerating infrastructure development and socio-economic growth in Ho Chi Minh City. The findings contribute to an integrated approach that aligns urban planning with AI technology in the development of smart cities in Vietnam. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study in this field.
