Interdisciplinary scientific research: Practices from the development cooperation of Artificial intelligence in legal science in Vietnam

Artificial intelligence is increasingly asserting its role in transforming the operational mechanisms of institutions. This article focuses on analyzing the potential applications of artificial intelligence in legal science from an interdisciplinary perspective, connecting law, computer science, and data science. The authors emphasize that artificial intelligence can not only enhance the process of searching and cross-referencing case law and judgments, conducting comparative analyses, and codifying legal normative documents, but also play a crucial role in optimizing the process of drafting judgments and improving the overall efficiency of court operations, thereby enhancing the quality of law-making activities. However, the article also highlights significant legal and ethical challenges, particularly in protecting privacy, ensuring data accuracy, and clearly defining legal responsibilities during the implementation of artificial intelligence. Based on this analysis, the authors propose the development of an appropriate legal framework, the enhancement of digital competencies among public officials, and the promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration in the research and deployment of artificial intelligence in legal science.
